Congratulations are in order for Starlena M., GCA senior and recipient of the fall 2016 GCA PTSO Covenant C.N.A. scholarship. Starlena successfully completed 121 hours of Nurse Aide Training Program and is now well on her way to a successful career in healthcare. After graduation, Starlena would like to use her C.N.A. certification to work in an elder care facility with the goal of eventually working in a hospital setting.
Starlena really enjoyed her experience at Covenant C.N.A. School. When asked what she thought about the program, she said, "I had a really good experience at the Covenant C.N.A. school with my teacher Mrs. Tedder. I was nervous before I entered the classroom. I didn't think the class was going to be as easy as it was. Everything was hands on and reality kicked in helping out at Budd Terrace [nursing home]. The residents just loved Covenant students and I'm happy I got to experience what I was able to. I've always been one to help. Thanks to Georgia Cyber Academy I got to have this great experience and I'd recommend SO MANY others to get certified as a nurses aide. I'd like to say Thank You to Everyone that made this possible!"
The PTSO and Covenant CNA will offer a second full scholarship to a GCA High School senior in May, 2017. Look for further details in April.
In addition to providing full scholarships, Covenant CNA School of Atlanta offers any GCA High School student who meets requirements a 50% discount on tuition. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Maria Blencowe.
