“The law requires virtually all male U.S. citizens (regardless of where they live), and male immigrants residing in the U.S. (permanent resident aliens), to register within 30 days of their 18th birthday. Therefore, to be in full compliance with the law, a man turning 18 is required to register during the period of time beginning 30 days before, until 30 days after his 18th birthday…a 60-day window.
Late registrations are accepted, but not once a man reaches age 26. Men who do not register within the 60-day window are technically in violation of the law and should register as soon as possible”.

ASVAP TESTING COMING TO GCA!!!!
Attention all SENIORS and parents: The Armed Service Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) will be administered on February 28, 2017 from 8:30-11:30 AM, Atlanta Ga.
What is the ASVAB Test? The ASVAB is not just a passport test to get into the military but is a great tool to discover future careers. Many students in the 12th grade do not know what they want to major in college or the career path they want to take. The ASVAB can be used to help aid in the “What am I going to do?” This is a battery of tests identifying the knowledge and skill level in the areas of verbal, math, science and technical skills including electronics, mechanical comprehension, and auto shop information.
Why Take The ASVAB? Those students struggling to decide on a college major, the type of technical training they will need, or the job that will best suit them, will benefit from taking the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB). It helps you identify your different skills and competencies. It measures potential to learn and perform in certain career areas.
Who administers the test? A specially trained testing administrator is provided by the Armed Forces to administer the ASVAB test at Georgia Cyber Academy in Atlanta.
Who takes this test? Seniors are invited to take this test. Limited space available.
Is there a cost to take the test? No cost. All materials needed are provided. Taking the ASVAB DOES NOT mean you MUST join Armed Services
